The First Glimpse into Hidden Hollow Farm

Today is the BIG day! So begins the Hidden Hollow Farm blog and we are here to share a journey with you. But before we begin, here is a peak into our past and a snapshot of our family farm.

Our journey began before Y2K in 1999 with a desire to get back to the basics of life. Wally and I started with just a large garden and I slowly added canning, dehydrating, sprouting, root cellaring, grinding wheat & baking bread, making butter, yogurt & cheese, Kombucha tea, fermented foods, cast iron cooking, edible & medicinal herbs, making tinctures & salves, and pasture raised chickens, pigs & beef, just to name a few!

We moved to Hidden Hollow Farm in 1985, originally living in The Cottage and then later building The Farmhouse. In 2001, our daughter, Kim and son in law, Gavin built The Victorian to accommodate their growing family which now consists of their 6 children ages 8-26. They have been homeschooling for over 20 years! Our daughter Lindsey and her husband, Brent also spend a lot of time on the farm with their 3 children, ages 4-9 and have raised pigs, goats, dairy cows and beef cows, to name a few, here on the farm.

Our dream was to share this amazing piece of heaven with others, so in 2010 we built the Loghome on the farm which we now share with Kim and Gavin and 4 of their kids. We then turned The Farmhouse, The Cottage and The Victorian into tranquil, hide away vacation rentals so others could share our dream.

Our goal in blogging is to give you a glimpse of a simpler lifestyle and a peak into the heart of what we value most . . . wholistic nutrition, peaceful living, family traditions and a life that glorifies our Creator! We hope you’ll keep checking back with us so you can share in our faith stretching challenges, heart warming stories and hopefully a little education thrown in to help you on your road to healthy living!
